ChristMass Murder Filming

Today was the day of filming. It was everything ready a so we decided to take our time to film ChristMass Murder's opening.
We got the equipment needed to film, a camera and a tripod, and went to the locations set to film.
Each one of us and had different roles. I was in charge of props/locations/costumes and prepared everything. I made sure that everything was ready for the filming.
David acted as the victim and Santa Klaus giving some advices for the filming.
Tiziana directed deciding (with our help) which angles to use and what to film.
Vikramarum was the cameraman who filmed everything.

In not too much time we finished filming and now all we have to do is to edit and add sound, if there is some needed. All together we worked well and we're quite satisfied for what we filmed today.

ChristMass Murder's Script

FADE IN:
	EXT. STREET - EVENING
	The phonebooth is placed an isolated place,no one is around. A man,dressed with a t-shirt,jeans and a jacket, rushes in the phonebooth to take a call. The cold, and dark night gives a creepy atmosphere to the place.
	DISSOLVE TO:
	INT. PHONEBOOTH - EVENING
	ROSS JOHNSON, ex-bully at school. He's nervous because he forgot the mobile at home while he was going on a party where his crush was in. He goes on the phone booth to call his friend and tells him that he has to come back home to pick his phone and then he can go to the party.
	RJ       (angrily) Damn dude! I friggin forgot the phone at home! I'll jump a bit at home and come as soon as I can.
	VOICE       (over the phone) Damn! Don't worry man! Go back, we will wait you to start the party.
	RJ Thanks dude!
	DISSOLVE TO:
	EXT. STREET - EVENING
	Ross goes out the phonebooth. He comes back home with a fast walk. Whispering to himself that he is being stupid for forgetting his phone at home, especially this night when he has to go to the party where his crush finally will be there.
	RJ       (whisper) Damn! Above all the night i can forget things, it has to be THIS night! How stupid can I be?!?!
	2.
	STREET
	All of a sudden in the background starts playing a Christmas song.
	RJ       (confused) What the hell!?!
	Some Santa klaus boots appears behind Mike.
	Ross, still confused keeps walking at home. He has arrived in front of the house's door. He searches the key in his pocket but cannot find it. The christmas song keeps playing in the background
	A person dressed up as Santa Klaus appears behind Ross. We are only able to see his hand that hold an axe in order to kill Ross
	Ross turns behind
	RJ       (scared) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
	DISSOLVE TO:
	INT. CORRIDOR - EVENING
	Santa Klaus drags a a sack all over the corridor. Blood is all over the sack and the floor.
	LIVING ROOM
	Santa Klaus brings the sack under the tree. After leaving the sack he take off his pocket a piece of paper. The piece of paper is the known "naughty list". He ticks the name of MIKE and puts it on the sack.
	The camera zooms out from the sack and the tree.
	DISSOLVE TO
	INT. ROOM - DAY
	Someone throws over the table a newspaper where there is written mike chang's death. Another death from the known serial killer that scares the city since three years
	THE END

Screenplay

Today I had a lesson about screenplay and how to write one. There are different steps to follow and this is a good scheme that will be able to help me to write my own screenplay for the current film project as well as future projects.

Visitor

Today a man named Rob came to visit us. He works as a film maker and gave us some advices and tips to use for our film project.
We had previously checked our blogs and told what was good and what we could improve.
He mainly talked about target audience, about the importance of a script and a call sheet, and about what we could add to our opening in order to make it better.

ChristMass Murder's characters

Santa Klaus - never speaks, always in full costume, has his own Christmas sound motif used whenever he kills a victim. 

Taylor Hart, 30, freelance journalist. Single, independent and determined. Keen to make it big and get her break. Career-focused.  

Mark Johnson, 38, camera-man. Secretly in love with Taylor. Available to her whenever she wants him. Hates being looked down on or treated badly. 

Police investigation team - 2 Head Officers - Cole Phelps, a hard working police officer willing to sacrifice himself to find out the mystery behind the murders. 

Nathan Drake - Also, a hard working police officer who likes to take charge and do investigations his way, even if it goes by police policy. 

Victims - Mike Chang,20,karate teacher who told Mark he was to bad to train under his wing. Jessica Green - Mark's old English teacher who always picked on him when he was in school. Ross Johnson,he bullied Mark during school days.

Taylor's family - Rose Hart, Taylor's mother. Matt Johnson, Taylor's father (dead prior to film). Jack Hart, Taylor's brother,worries Taylor is taking her job to serious and could end up dead.

ChristMass Murder's target audience

After a long research on BBFC, the target audience for ChristMass Murder, in my opinion, should be 18+.

I also came to this conclusion after having made different researches such as looking at other films targeted 18+ such as Se7en and Saw that both contain an high amount violence. We plan to make this film with violence as strong as the films used as examples and after having checked the various targets definitions, the 18+ was the most appropriate. I was actually thinking that also a target 15 could be ok but after these researches I changed my mind given that film targeted 15 cannot dwell the infliction of pain and injury which something will likely happen in our film project.

18+ films can contain:

  very strong violence

  frequent strong language (e.g. 'f***') and / or very strong language (e.g. ‘c***’)

  strong portrayals of sexual activity

  scenes of sexual violence

  strong horror

  strong blood and gore

  real sex (in some circumstances)

  discriminatory language and behaviour

As stated by BBFC, which is what we (Impact Productions), had in mind while planning ChristMass Murder.
